Fabian is the biz guy at Gridcognition, but he’s still passionate the product and technology. He is responsible for strategy, team & culture, operations, business development, and ensuring the business has the capital to execute on our vision.

Pete is the product guy at Gridcognition, responsible for the product vision, customer experience, product roadmap, & business development. Pete is a widely respected innovator & expert in the Australian energy industry.

Sam heads up the technology team at Gridcognition, after a decade-long stint at Google Australia.
He’s keen on accelerating the world’s transition to renewable and distributed energy.
Dr James Barnard
Head of Data Science
MSc Cambridge University | PhD Durham (Theoretical Physics)
James is the math guy at Gridcognition and expert in data science and machine learning. He is responsible for inventing and developing the core simulation and optimisation algorithms and analytical models that power the Gridcognition software.

Presently completing PhD Sustainable Futures (Digital Grid Transformation) UTS. Master of Engineering Science (Renewable Energy Engineering) UNSW. Bachelor of Engineering (Civil) UTS.
Joe is an energy engineer and data scientist. He specialises in grid transformation, energy modelling and software development. Before Gridcognition Joe spent six years as a research consultant at the University of Technology Sydney working at the nexus of industry, government and academia, driving high impact projects and paving the way for positive change in the electricity industry.

David is a software engineer with experience building enterprise grade software systems.
Formerly Telstra Purple developing software solutions for Bankwest, WorkcoverWA, Atlas professionals, Instant windscreens, and Telstra.

Alice is a full stack engineer, specialising in serverless AWS applications with a React frontend and has six years’ experience in software development and consulting, at Deloitte, ThoughtWorks and Telstra Purple. Previous projects include work for RAC, BankWest, 7West Media, and The Museum of Performing Arts Perth

Ana is the finance person at Gridcognition, and is passionate about sustainability and the energy transition. She has over eight years’ experience working in professional services and finance roles in Australia and abroad. Ana is responsible for managing finances and supporting the operational management of the business.
Flexibility Markets Lead

Alex is an experience analyst and program manager in the electricity sector. He has a strong background across all aspects of electricity markets including regulatory considerations, market design and spot operations, financial hedging and generator bidding behaviour, ancillary services and frequency control, and the physical characteristics of power generation.

Eddie is a recent Computer Science/Data Science graduate who joined the team as a Summer intern from Startmate and we couldn’t let him go! Passionate about software, Eddie has been programming since he was 15, and has worked on a number of personal projects stretching from web apps to embedded system programming.

Thai is a recent Software Engineering graduate. Passionate about STEM from a young age, Thai has worked on a number of personal projects ranging from web apps to natural language processing and formerly held an internship at CSIRO developing data visualisation web apps.

Clare has worked in the energy industry since 2005. She has great knowledge of the NEM, enjoys looking at interval data (seriously) and likes to learn as much as she can about the ever-changing energy efficiency industry.
